Katie has practiced yoga since 1997 and began her meditation journey in 1994. She was trained at Satsang Yoga Center in Garrison, NY in 2004, and received her prenatal certification in 2005. Her most recent studies have been in guided meditation with a certification in meditation for teens, and a 300 hour training with My Vinyasa Practice (including vinyasa, yoga nidra, yin yoga, restorative yoga, and trauma-informed yoga). She has over 3,000 hours of teaching experience, and enjoys teaching all levels of students from beginner to advanced and pregnant moms to seniors. Classes emphasize breath, alignment, vinyasa, meditation, and a cultivation of self-nurturing. Katie believes strongly that yoga brings us closer to our true self.
In addition to her Yoga and Reiki certifications, she holds a Bachelor's in Fine Art and a Master's in Health Promotion. Katie has spent previous years as an art teacher and education curator. Her art has hung in the Capitol building, and most recently pieces have been in juried exhibits locally in Connecticut. Art is definitely her first love and continues to be the place where she feels most connected to everything.
"Katie's yoga class feels like a warm hug. She is so down-to-earth, attentive, and creative throughout the practice. She exudes positive energy and puts such heart into her work. You'll always absorb something new and fun when you take her class.
Whether it's a mindful breathing meditation or her inventive pigeon hover, when Katie's at the helm you'll feel as though all things are possible. She guides you with extreme care, designing each asana with such a solid foundation, ensuring you are safely aligned and feeling fine. From there, she encourages you to find your edge, and you may even discover a thing or two you never knew you could achieve.
I have always walked out of Katie's yoga class smiling, feeling refreshed and renewed, both inside and out. Just like a warm hug."

"Katie is a very gentle soul with a sweetness and kindness that is not only admirable, but also inspiring. Her artistic ability and creativity is evident in everything she does, from painting to cooking. She is an incredibly intuitive yoga instructor with the innate ability to bring what she practices and teaches on the mat into everyday life. Katie's intuition, tenderness, and kindheartedness leaves me wanting to know her secret and how to incorporate those traits into my own life!"

"Katie brings a uniqueness and a softness to the lifestyle of a military spouse that can be rewarding and exciting yet extremely challenging. Her unique talents as a yoga instructor and artist offer a beautiful balance to her husband's career, and are so beneficial to all those - particularly other military spouses- who are lucky enough to have Katie as a teacher and friend."
